Welcome! My name is Suryadyuti Baral.

I am an aspiring quantitative psychologist with a passion for using statistics to gain insights into cognitive processes. Please feel free to navigate around and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or feedback you may have.

I’m currently pursuing a BS in Psychology and Statistics & Operations Research with a minor in Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In the Fall of 2024, I will be starting my PhD in Quantitative Psychology at the University of California - Davis.

I am interested in research. During my time at UNC I have worked on multiple projects that has helped me hone my skills and improve my understanding in EEG/ERP, attention, Bayesian statistics, dynamic structural equation models, predictive coding, machine learning, exploratory factor analysis, deception, lying behavior, and intergroup conflicts.

I love spreading my passion of learning. I have extensive teaching experience that includes volunteering to teach mathematics to elementary school children, teaching mathematics to underprivileged Indian students in classes 8 and 9, and serving as a peer tutor at UNC's Learning Center, where I have tutored over 15 classes and worked with undergraduate students.

When I need a breather from diving deep into the realms of cognitive and quantitative psychology, I fearlessly boot up chess.com for random 5-minute blitz matches, and let my rating plummet to the ground. But when I'm not strategizing my next move, you'll find me strolling the breathtaking campus of UNC, immersing myself in captivating podcasts or getting lost in the world of audiobooks. It's in these moments, embracing the beauty around me, that I find the perfect balance between my passions and the simple joys of campus life.
